Welcome to Cub Club™. This Usage Policy outlines the rules, responsibilities, and legal terms governing the use of Cub Club™ tablets, software, applications, and related online services (collectively referred to as “the Devices” or “the Platform”).
This Policy is designed to ensure the safe, responsible, and educational use of Cub Club™ technology by all users, including students, teachers, staff, and schools. By using any Cub Club™ device, software, or accessing our website or applications, you agree to comply with the terms below.
1. Purpose of This Policy
Cub Club™ provides tablets and educational software to enhance learning experiences within schools. The Devices and Platform are intended for educational use only and may not be used for personal, commercial, or non-educational purposes. This Policy ensures safe and responsible use of technology, protection of data, and compliance with South African law and school policies.
2. Acceptance of Terms
By activating, accessing, or using a Cub Club™ tablet, software, or related services, the user automatically agrees to this Usage Policy and the full Terms & Conditions. you do not agree with these terms, you must not use the device or software.
3. Ownership
All Cub Club™ tablets, applications, software, website content, learning materials, and all related intellectual property (including text, graphics, logos, images, video, audio, databases, and source code) are and shall remain the exclusive property of Cub Club (Pty) Ltd, its sister companies, or any sponsoring partners providing devices or software under the Cub Club™ program.
Users are granted a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to access and use the devices, software, and content strictly in accordance with this Policy and for educational purposes only.
Users may not:
Copy, reproduce, modify, adapt, distribute, publish, or transmit any part of the Cub Club™ content or software without prior written consent from Cub Club (Pty) Ltd. Use the Cub Club™ name, logo, trademarks, or branding for any purpose without authorization. Decompile, reverse-engineer, or attempt to extract source code from any Cub Club™ application or platform. Share, resell, lease, or lend Cub Club™ materials or digital content to any third party. Any unauthorised use, reproduction, or distribution of Cub Club™ content or intellectual property is strictly prohibited and may result in disciplinary action, termination of access, and/or legal proceedings under applicable South African copyright and intellectual property laws.
4. Authorized Use
Users must use the tablet and software solely for educational purposes approved by the school. Users must not install, remove, or modify applications without permission, attempt to alter system settings, or access inappropriate content.
5. Responsibilities
Schools are responsible for ensuring tablets are used appropriately and maintained in good condition. Teachers and staff must supervise students and protect login credentials. Students must use devices responsibly, avoid tampering, and follow school rules.
6. Prohibited Conduct
Users are prohibited from accessing or sharing inappropriate or illegal content, damaging devices, or bypassing security controls. Violation of these rules may result in disciplinary action or loss of privileges.
7. Privacy and Data Protection
Cub Club™ complies with the Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA) of South Africa. Personal information will be used solely for educational and operational purposes and will not be sold or shared without consent.
8. Limitation of Liability
Cub Club™, its affiliates, sister companies, sponsors, and representatives are not liable for misuse, damage, data loss, or injury caused by improper use of devices or services. Schools and educators are responsible for supervision and ensuring compliance by students.
9. Warranty and Support
Cub Club™ tablets include a limited warranty covering manufacturing defects only. Damage due to misuse, neglect, or unauthorised modification is not covered.
10. Policy Updates
Cub Club™ may update this Policy at any time. Continued use of the devices or software after updates constitutes acceptance of the new terms.
11. Governing Law
This Policy is governed by the laws of the Republic of South Africa.
